Answers with fast boot you just need to spam F2 after hitting power, it doesnt tell you but it still will register and drop you into the bios, some laptops its hold F2 then power rather than spam F2. Answers Assuming that the boot section of your BIOS chip can still read a bootable USB drive, I suggest that you remove both the battery and the charger. Then press and hold the power button for a minute or so. Replace the battery and charger and cold boot while immediately tapping F2 even with a black screen.
Cany enter TravelMate 5744 BIOS. I had to replace the disk drive in a TravelMate 5744; ordered recovery DVD's from Acer and have them; machine won't boot from the DVD drive. Have tapped F12 during splash screen but no boot choice appears. Have tapped F2 during splash but won't enter BIOS utility. Tried booting from a USB flash drive but no luck.
